Understanding Social Media and how to manage…

Understanding Social Media and what tools to use to make it easier to manage your brand in the world of Social.

Social Media is a networking tool that allows for rich conversations by including all sorts of media types (video, images, text, web pages, sms etc.) into an interoperable platform. Or, in Plain English you can access your Social Media anywhere anytime and pretty much from any web enabled device like an iPhone/PC or laptop for instance.

Networking or the term networking is not new, it was popularised in the1990’s but has really come into its own with the advent of Web 2.0 and the maturing Internet. We all have heard of sites like Facebook, MySpace, Linkedin and all sorts of new real-time services starting up like Twitter and Foursquare. Continue Reading »

After all your hard work building your site have you taken your slice of Search Engine traffic the site deserves?

The web cliché “Build it and they will come” is now no longer true, there are trillions of pages of content on the Internet today. Being found now, and staying ‘found’ is key and will be key to any of your online marketing activities.

If you are starting out in business and have a presence ‘On and Offline’ with a physical store or an e-commerce website then being found is very much like being found on a map with your street address. The only thing is that the online address does not conform to the rules of the real world. Continue Reading »

10 website tips and tweaks for your website in 2010

Ten things to improve and maintain your website for 2010

Get found by search engines with these tips from Integrati Marketing

With the recent build of our new site integrati.com.au and also working on site audits and site builds for our customers we had created a few ‘to-do’ lists. Simple but easy ways to remember as we go with the site build to add extra bits of value to a site which can often in the rush to build the site, either be overlooked, missed, or well just forgotten.

What is interesting also, is that whilst many of these tips may seem obvious to experts or sound like ‘specialist’ tips they actually are not. It is more like a bit of housekeeping and looking to keep you site in order. You can also be really surprised about extraordinarily expensive sites and companies that don’t even follow some of these tips themselves. Also, everything Integrati Marketing recommends we pretty much have live, underway or are testing.

We have not put these top ten suggestions into any particular order. You can use it like a ‘check list’ if you wish, we do with our sites. The idea is to take a moment and when you catch a breath have a look at your website and check, “how up-to-date is my site and do I have all the top 10 covered?” Continue Reading »

Integrated Marketing 2010 to 2020 why the movie business knows it has to change their marketing approach now!

Why the USA Movie Business knows it has to change their Marketing now!

Insights kindly shared by Stradella Road and with their research Moviegoers 2010

Recently I was totally enamoured with a latest release from our friends across the Pacific puddle in the USA. It was for the movie Avatar. Right now I think it would be highly unlikely that there are many people in Australia that have not seen or heard about Avatar.

Well, what I really found interesting about this movie was how much of it I became aware of, read and learned online. Which pretty much made me want to go and see Avatar six months before it was released. On the day of release my we went at our local beautifully air conditioned IMAX and saw Avatar in all its 3D glory. Also, we very gladly escaped the summer heat.

The whole experience was outstanding. But what was really interesting was the buzz building online in blogs, Twitter and email after email from friends and colleagues talking about the movie months before it was even out. Now I know that Avatar is not a standard Hollywood film – it is of course in the tradition of a great action love story that the Yank’s do so well!

But it also showed a shift in movie marketing strategy and a far more integrated piece of marketing work than I had ever seen before – it was brilliantly crafted.

Well, I also recently was able to receive some research from Stradella Road in the USA which was a piece of research that demonstrates the importance of integrated marketing and the effective use of Social Networks to build great positive word of mouth. Continue Reading »

Is my business losing traffic without a holding page? What is a holding page anyway?

Why having a great holding page for your new website is key! Read on…

Over the last week the Integrati team have been flat-out working on the new Integrati Marketing site. As part of the process of building a new site on a fresh Domain or website name such as; www.integrati.com.au has been registered for the new site. A great way of showing the world and to start to being ‘found’ by internet search engines is to have a ‘holding page’ on your new web website or Domain Name.

A holding page does essentially, “what it says on the tin”, it lets you create a soft launch of the new site by creating a single web page. This allows for ‘good things to happen’ like being found by search engine bots, robots or more correctly web crawlers. This helps your new ‘get found’ as when a web crawler finds your site it means your on your way to start page ranking in Search Engines (SE) for your site. Continue Reading »

Did you know?

We all know that the internet and the access to local, regional, national and international audiences is simply unprecedented at such a low-cost.

In fact, we are living in revolutionary times with old media like newspapers in terminal decline and commercial Free to Air TV such as Channel Nine, Channel Ten and Channel 7 in Australia having to write off billions in equity. Commercial TV is suffering from a literal loss of eyeballs! You see, the less people sit and watch the less effective TV advertising becomes and of course this is noted by the Advertisers, marketers, and advertising specialists that are sending more and more advertising to the web.

Also, we are living in exponential times. The internet is a perfect example of this theory in action as well as China!

Now for some fast facts from “Did you Know? 3.0 Rome 2008″

  • China is on track to be the number 1 English-speaking country in the world
  • The US Department of labor estimates that todays learner will have 10-14 jobs by the age of 38
  • 1 in 4 workers has been with their employer less than a year
  • 1 in 8 US couples married in 2007 met online
  • There are 31 BILLION searches on Google every month! (B.G. where did we search Before.Google.?)

These are just some of the facts that will help you to remember the pace fo change and the speed at which technology is evolving is simply awesome. Continue Reading »

How to write a great brief? The top 5 things to include in a marketing brief

Writing a good marketing brief or briefs is an art not a science, but process helps!

brief writing

It has been said that a brief should be exactly that – brief. This in my past experience normally comes from Advertising professionals who are always focused on the “Big Idea” and are time poor. That works well for agency’s with clients that have worked together long enough to know the brand and how to deliver that single creative proposition. but it may not be ideal for enterprise and small business who may not have that deep relationship which some corporates and national and international agency’s share.

But what do you need to do when you a smaller business and you have a million ideas and are looking to start work with a new agency, designer, web developer and internet marketer to create you a great campaign, website or promotion? Well, like any business you can have a million ideas but you most probably will not have the funds to pay for them all! So, a brief is a great way for you, the client, to focus on what you really need and can afford to invest. Continue Reading »

So what is an RTB anyway?

What is with those acronyms or three letter acronyms in marketing?

I have been working in marketing and Advertising for over 12 years now and along the way I have picked up some very bad habits.

I have to be honest with you and come clean about one of my worst habits. At first it was a conscious decision to use them when I was first learning about Marketing, but now it seems to be second nature. It is the art of the acronym or a better description, those damn Three Letter Acronyms (TLA’s)!

Wordle: RTB

Recently I have been working with an excellent designer who is up and coming and really skilled in web design and coding. As part of my process of communicating what I wanted in the site I created a briefing document and some supporting documents which are how I want the site to look like wireframes and site requirements.
